Executive Management Institute Comes to Florida in April

Feb 17, 2013

The Executive Management Institute (EMI) serves as a capstone to the the NECA-Management Education Institute (MEI) management development curriculum. The program provides state-of-the-art management concepts and analytical tools that build on senior managers' existing knowledge of the electrical contracting business and the electrical construction industry.

We are pleased to announce that the next EMI will be held April 2-5 at the offices of the North Florida Chapter, NECA in Jacksonville, Florida. It kicks off with a reception on the evening of April 1.

NECA's EMI is an intensive, four-day learning experience designed to enhance the leadership skills of current and up-and-coming executives and managers. Participants that have benefited from this class include presidents/CEOs, vice presidents, chief financial officers, chief operations officers, division mangers, project managers, office managers and controllers.

Course exercises, case studies, and discussions revolve around the fictional company, Tesla Electric Company, a firm dealing with the same types of challenges and changes any business in our competitive industry must face. The course will address Tesla's management capabilities, business environment,  financial positions, market, employees, labor relations, and other aspects needed to fully define the operational and business functions of the firm. Then, using this business as a model, you will gain valuable insights applicable to your unique company. Many past EMI participants have marveled at how closely Tesla Electric mirrors their own company.

Course Outline:

  • The Effective Executive: Vision & Leadership

  • Financial Analysis & Management

  • Strategic Management

  • Identifying and Analyzing Business Opportunities

  • Process Design & Management

  • Measuring Firm Performance

The registration fee of $2500 covers four days of instruction, all course materials, and meals and receptions. The Jacksonville Marriott is recommended for out-of-town guests.
