The Importance of Data in Construction - Thursday, April 15, 2021 | 7:00 - 8:00 PM EST

As the construction industry rapidly approaches the brink of industrialization the value of good data is increasing. Today, over 80% of the decisions made in the field and back-office have little to no oversight which limits our contractors’ ability to measure successes and failures. The future of construction will be based on data and clearly defined Key Performance Indicators that will fundamentally change every aspect of design, construction, supply chain and building services. Construction professionals leveraging data to improve their decision-making process will have a significant competitive advantage allowing them to build a culture of continuous improvement through benchmarking.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss how GCs are starting to use analytics and how that could impact our members.
  2. Communicate the importance of data and how it will impact every electrical contractor in the future.
  3. Identify challenges associated with collecting data and turning it into information that we can trust and leverage to improve our decision-making process.
  4. Define Key Performance Indicators and how benchmarking can reduce risk and increase margins.
