For many contractors, the process of estimating and bidding projects is just a means to get work in the door. They give very little thought to how the estimate could be a tool to assist the project manager in effectively and efficiently running the project when they win the bid. If we are focusing our efforts on bidding projects that we have a high probability of winning, then we should have the mentality that we will win the bid and have to build the project.
