This two-day session will identify the characteristics and habits of employee safety and will explain how their buy-in affects the company’s safety culture. Learn how company leaders in the safety arena can make safety improvements and create profitability for your company. In effort to understand and retain your company’s safety training with employees, this session will detail how to access the status of a company safety program. Significant updates in the latest OSHA activities will be discussed as it impacts businesses and are necessary for contactor safety programs.
Day one will review the necessary programs and regulations developed by OSHA and the Occupation Safety and Health Administration that employers must follow to comply with federal requirements to protect employees. In addition, participants will learn about company written programs that include Exposure Control Plans, Written Respiratory Programs and training requirements. You will also be able to define a competent person, authorized person and a qualified person related to duties and responsibilities.
Day two will look at the importance of maintaining a good safety record and the implications that high recordable rates, elevated Experience Modification Ratios, (EMRs), and increased workers compensation claims have on the profitability of a company. Supervision and leadership play a key role in creating the safety culture of every employer and leads the way in ensuring adherence to federal regulations and the shared responsibility between employers and employees.
