The Project Excellence Awards showcase the exceptional work performed by NECA electrical contractors throughout the United States. The awards recognize companies for their outstanding commitment, professionalism and ingenuity in delivering an electrical project. Projects are scored based on their originality, aesthetics, difficulty of installation, quality of workmanship, and application of technology.
The competition encompasses eleven categories based on the type of project and its dollar value:
- Design Build
- Energy Solutions/Green Building
- Health Care
- Overhead Transmission
- Street Lighting/Traffic Signal
Two awards are given out for these categories: Commercial/Institutional, Design Build, Educational, Energy Solutions/Green Building, Health Care, and Street Lighting/Traffic Signal. The awards are based on whether the electrical/technology portion of the project is valued under or over $1,000,000.
Only one award, regardless of project value, is given out for these categories: Industrial, Overhead Transmission, Residential, Substation/Interconnection, and Transportation/Infrastructure.
The submissions must be based on projects completed in the prior calendar year, regardless of when they were started.
