ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR Highlights 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) Changes

This NEC cycle, there were fewer proposals—3,745—submitted to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) headquarters by the proposal deadline of Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, and only 1,625 comments sent by the comment closing date of Oct. 17, 2012. In the 1999 NEC cycle, there were 4,030 proposals with 3,179 comments; 4,487 proposals with 2,420 comments for 2002; 3,530 proposals with 2,800 comments in 2005; 3,688 proposals with 2,349 comments in 2008; and 5,016 proposals with 2,910 comments for 2011.
