NECA/FOA 301-2010, Standard for Installing and Testing Fiber Optics is the latest updated publication in the series of National Electrical Installation Standards® published by NECA. This standard, jointly developed with the Fiber Optic Association, describes installation and test procedures for fiber optic cabling networks and applies to fiber optic cabling installed indoors (premises installations) and outside plant (OSP) applications.

Chapter Manager Defends NY Requirement For Multiple Prime Contracting On Public Works

The Wicks Law, which requires that state and local government construction projects in New York seek competitive bids directly from plumbing, electrical and HVAC contractors in addition to the general contractor, faces another challenge of repeal. In response, Lawrence J. Bradley, executive director of NECA's Rochester New York Chapter, wrote an article defending the requirement. It was published recently in the Rochester Business Journal.
