On September 26th
, members of the Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter met with Congressman Pat Meehan (R-PA), whose district covers portions of the Philadelphia suburbs including Villanova University, a Boeing helicopter facility, the Marcus Hook oil refineries, and many residential communities.
Rep. Meehan, a Republican on the influential House Ways and Means Committee, has been supportive of many of NECA’s legislative priorities. He has consistently opposed efforts to repeal Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage laws. He’s voted for the passage of the long-term transportation bill that was signed into law last year and he is currently co-sponsoring NECA supported legislation to extend business investment tax credits (ITC) for energy technologies including fuel cells, combined heat and power, small wind, and geothermal energy, prompting other members of Congress to do the same. Meehan has had a number of meetings with NECA regarding multiemployer pension reform and expressed early interest in composite plans.
