The Senate began consideration of a NECA-supported bill that will be the first major energy policy bill in nearly ten years. As reported last week
, the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2015
(S. 2012) addresses a host of NECA priorities
, including expediting liquefied natural gas exportation, streamlining permitting, and modernizing the grid. As of the morning of January 28, a total of 89 amendments to the legislation had been introduced. Consideration of the bill will continue into next week and is expected to last a minimum of two weeks.
