Save the Date for the 2016 National Legislative Conference & PLC Summit

Jan 29, 2016

Join us in Washington, DC on Wednesday, May 18 and Thursday, May 19 for NECA’s 2016 National Legislative Conference.

This annual meeting is the premiere legislative conference for electrical contractors to hear about the top issues affecting the industry and meet the leaders who are working to provide real solutions. Our conference is about policy, not partisanship. Accordingly, NECA will ensure leading members of Congress from both sides of the political aisle will be on hand to brief participants on the latest happenings on Capitol Hill.

NECA’s top priorities for 2016 include a wide variety of issues aimed at ensuring the businesses of NECA contractors continue to grow and prosper. These important issues include: investing in our nation’s infrastructure, creating new and innovative multiemployer defined benefit pension plans, and comprehensive tax reform. This will be your best opportunity to come to Washington, D.C., tell lawmakers your story, and help them understand the issues affecting your business.

Participants in the Conference will fly into Washington, DC the morning of May 18 and take part in issue briefings to learn how to communicate effectively with prepared position papers and talking points, followed by a Welcome Reception at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The morning of May 19 will kick off with briefings from Members of Congress to give attendees an inside perspective on the latest happenings in Congress, followed by a full day of meetings on Capitol Hill. The conference will close with the Congressional Reception at NECA’s Capitol Hill office on the evening of May 19. Participants should plan to fly home on the morning of May 20.

By taking an active role in the policymaking process, participants are contributing to the success of the electrical contracting industry by sending Congress the message that NECA leads the industry in establishing and maintaining the highest workforce standards and performance. Join forces with other NECA members and staff working on the Association’s behalf in Washington.

Together, we can guide legislative change for our industry and the people we serve.
