3. Rep. John Kline (R-MN), chairman of the House Education and Workforce Committee, announced September 2 that he would not seek reelection in 2016. Rep. Kline, who was term limited as chairman of the Committee, is following the same path taken recently by other veteran Republicans term-limited out of their chairmanships.

NECA’s Look Ahead: Rep. Kline was instrumental in shepherding passage of the NECA-supported Multiemployer Pension Reform Act of 2014 and NECA will continue to work with Chairman Kline to help finish the job through the authorization of Composite Plans.
