Chairman’s Challenge: Penn-Del-Jersey Meets Rep. Barletta

Feb 10, 2017

On January 25, 2017, NECA’s Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter met with Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA) in Philadelphia. The Congressman was in town to attend the Republican Caucus’ annual retreat where they discussed their policy agenda.

Rep. Barletta is a key representative on issues affecting our industry. Among other roles, he sits on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions. This year, he served on President Trump’s Transition team and was a close advisor on transportation and labor issues. He discussed the new Administration’s priority to invest in infrastructure and promote family sustaining jobs in manufacturing and construction. Attendees reminded the Congressman of the importance of the Davis-Bacon Act and Project Labor Agreements on such projects.

Representatives from the Philadelphia Building Trades and union contractors associations attended the meeting. Representing NECA were Robert Bresnahan, Jr. of Kuharchik Construction, Inc., Bob Duff from Carr & Duff, Inc., Curt Fox from Nucero Electrical Construction Co., Inc., Thomas G. Moore, Jr. of J.P. Rainey Company, Inc., Charles MacDonald from Charles H. MacDonald Electric, Inc. and Vice President of the Chapter, and Helen Levins from the Chapter.
