NECA's EC Magazine Earns Two Gold Folio Awards For Editorial Excellence

ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR magazine, which NECA publishes to meet the information needs of the entire electrical contracting industry, has garnered its share of honors for editorial content and design in past years. Now, for the first time ever, EC has earned two awards at the highest (Gold) level from Folio in the largest awards competition in magazine publishing.

Folio is the leading publication for magazine professionals. Its audience includes professionals from all sectors of the magazine industry, including those in business-to-business, consumer, association, and city and regional publishing.

This multi-channel source says that its Eddie Award for editorial excellence is "a prestigious designation bestowed to only the best magazine editorial and creative teams."  A panel of 60 expert judges sifted through more than 2000 entries to select the most deserving recipients after weeks of painstaking consideration.

Our publication earned a Gold Eddie in the “Business to Business, Energy/Utilities/Engineering, Full Issue” category. The issue that took the prize was EC’s January 2009 edition, which focused on the economy and the forecast for the year ahead

In addition, NECA’s monthly magazine won an entirely new award for online excellence. This second Gold Eddie recognizes the EC website at www.ecmag.com — not for a particular page, but for our magazine’s entire Internet presence.

"We are very proud of both awards,” said EC Publisher John Maisel. “Our editorial and production team has been working very hard to make both the magazine and the website more useful and more attractive to readers, users, and adverisers. It’s very gratifying to receive gold awards for our efforts, the first time EC has earned the top awards from Folio. It shows we’re succeeding!”
