The American Line Builders Chapter was established in 1956 for the purpose providing members an effective agency through which to express their collective voice on issues effecting the line construction industry. Today the Chapter represents qualified, reliable, and experienced line contractors in the District of Columbia, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. Within these areas, the Chapter maintains relationships within the following local unions of the IBEW: 17, 32, 51, 70, 71, 101, 145, 193, 196, 245, 309, 317, 411, 637, 649, 702, 876, 934, and 1393. The Chapter currently has 40 members, who perform various types of outside electrical construction services in these areas.

The Chapter provides member with services in the areas of Labor Relations, Educational Services, Safety Training, and Government Affairs. Included in the Chapter's areas of support are the following:

The Chapter works with code-making bodies, keeping our members up-to-date on matters
affecting their services to customers.

The Chapter helps members maintain and improve their operations through educational and
training programs.

The Chapter serves as liaison to government agencies such as OSHA and DOL, keeping members informed of the latest government regulations affecting their business and
construction projects.

The Chapter provides networking opportunities for contractors through membership
meetings held twice yearly.

The Chapter is a resource center where contractors can obtain information on most topics
affecting the electrical construction industry.

The Chapter is an effective tool for contractors to shape the electrical industry. Listed

ALBAT SUBCOMMITTEES
The members of the American Line Builders Chapter and
each local union participate in American Line Builders
Apprenticeship Training Subcommittees covering the 4th
and 6th Districts of the IBEW.

The Chapter's Regular Membership Meetings are held bi-annually at a site determined by the Chapter's Board of Trustees.

The Chapter's support helps members excel in the services they provide to their customers:
installation, maintenance, and upgrading of all types of outside electrical systems, from basic distribution systems, to the most sophisticated substation work, including fiber optics.

The American Line Builders Chapter of NECA is part of the foundation of success for the electrical industry. The Chapter and it's members are committed to the highest level of excellence.
