A Note From NECA Business Development

Dear friends and NECA family, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. As we approach the end of the year, we thank you all for your support in making 2017 a successful year.  It has been busy and rewarding, but there’s no time to rest, as we are already making plans for 2018. 

In January, we will officially launch a new business development podcast that focuses on the impact of Leadership, Innovation, Technology, and a transforming Energy industry of electrical contractors.  It will be available online via ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR Magazine and the Apple iTunes store. The 2018 Project Excellence Awards submission period will run from January 1 to April 30, 2018.  For project rules and to submit your projects, or to see this year’s winners, please visit

The Business Development Conference for NECA chapter staff, IBEW local staff, and LMCC staff business developers will be held from January 23 – 25, 2018 at the Terranea Resort, in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.  Registration is now open via the NECA website.

Lastly, the Energy Study Mission meeting will be held from April 24 – 25, 2018 at Acuity Brands, in Atlanta, GA.  The goal of the meeting will be to study connected lighting, Smart Cities, and Internet of Things (IoT) opportunities for electrical contractors. Registration will open in February. 

NECA works with contractors, building owners, developers, manufacturers, LMCC business development staff and NECA chapters to produce training programs, tools, publications and promotional material that position NECA contractors as a customer's full service energy solutions provider.
