Request NECA Membership Information

The following information may help you evaluate whether you qualify for NECA membership.

The National Electrical Contractors Association, founded in 1901, is the leading representative of a segment of the construction market comprised of over 70,000 electrical contracting firms. The industry employs over 650,000 electrical workers and produces an annual volume of over $95 billion. NECA includes 120 U.S. chapters in addition to others in countries around the world. The association sponsors the NECA Show, renowned as the industry's premiere event, which features cutting-edge technologies, highlights new trends, and provides courses to help contractors broaden their knowledge and skill. NECA is dedicated to enhancing the industry through continuing education, labor relations, current information and promotional activities.

Membership in the association is only available to a "person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of 'electrical contracting' . . . defined as the business of erecting, installing, repairing, servicing or maintaining electric wiring, devices or equipment."

If you are located in the United States, membership in NECA begins with a local chapter. We have 120 such chapters in the United States, each serving a specific geographical area. Upon approval by the local chapter, an application for your membership at the "national" level will be submitted by the local chapter.

Associate Membership is available through some of our chapters, but does not exist at the National level. Please note below, in the comments section, if this is an option you would be interested in and we will be happy to forward that information to you.

If you are located outside the United States, please complete the form and it will be forwarded for proper processing.

The primary services of the association are aimed at those firms hiring union (IBEW) electricians. Non-union firms may be approved for membership based upon the practice of each local chapter (many of our chapters do not accept non-union members). The association does not offer any services for non-union employing contractors and they comprise less than 2% of our membership.

To receive information about becoming a member of the industry's premier trade association, please complete the form below and submit. NECA will respond as soon as possible.
