NECA Chapter Governor Wins Prestigious Leadership By Example Award

Luke Cunningham, the Governor and former President with the National Electrical Contractors Association’s Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter, was honored with the prestigious Leadership by Example Award at the SkillsUSA Council's annual meeting last month.

For Cunningham, who is President of NECA member West Side Hammer Electric, which is based in Bethlehem, PA, community and industry involvement has always been a top priority. Some of the boards and committees he is involved with include: chairman for IBEW Local 375 JATC and Trustee of IBEW Local 375 Labor Management Committee; NECA National Workforce Development Committee member; trustee of Central Pennsylvania Small Works Committee; and chairman of the St. Luke’s University Health Network, Allentown Campus Community Initiatives Committee, City of Bethlehem Electrical Board, the Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School Joint Authority, the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, the Bethlehem Economic Development Corporation. He has also served on the boards of St. Luke’s University Health Network, Allentown Campus; the Bethlehem Area School District Authority; SkillsUSA Council, Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation; City of Bethlehem Civil Service Board of Engineers and Electricians, and the Bethlehem Rotary.

The Leadership by Example Award recognizes individuals who exemplify the principles the SkillsUSA Council instills in students and promotes the value of career and technical education. Recipients are chosen based on their involvement with the SkillsUSA Council, their commitment to advancing career and technical education, and community impact.
