An article in the Tampa Bay Times recently highlighted the burgeoning work that Jacksonville, Fla.-based Miller Electric has been doing with NECA value added services provider Day & Night Solar, including the installation of solar panels on a parking garage canopy at local police headquarters in Florida.
Miller’s collaboration with Day & Night Solar (DNS) has begun reaping rewards. It is an example for contractors on how partnering with the right company can help you to take the lead on a project. In this case, because DNS supplied direct factory pricing on mounting hardware, panels and inverters, Miller was able to come in as the low bidder while securing a great profit margin.
In working with companies around the country, DNS acts as an estimator of sorts, including the pricing of products and a labor analysis.
“We take the scary risk out and let them do what their good at. It’s even easier when you are dealing with a highly sophisticated contractor like Miller Electric.” Bob Eaton, Managing Member at Day & Night Solar.
The solar panels on a parking canopy in St. Petersburg were a late addition to the $79 million police headquarters, scheduled to be fully operational in the spring of 2019, according the article.
Day & Night Solar, which opened its doors in early 2009, has responded to the rapid demand in the growing solar industry by expanding from its roots in Southern Illinois to working with clients across the country.
“We’ll hand-hold them from the beginning of the project to the end,” Melinda Kershaw said.
