NECA Encouraged by Promises Addressing Health Care, Tax Reform and Infrastructure Investment
The chief executive officer of the National Electrical Contractors Association, John M. Grau, issued the following statement in response to President Donald J. Trump’s address before a Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday night:
“President Trump's address to tonight's Joint Session of Congress gives hope for job growth and opportunity for the entire electrical construction industry. His actions such as approving the Keystone XL and Dakota pipelines, coupled with his executive actions to reform the regulatory burdens placed on our contractors and his promises to repair our health care system and overhaul our tax code, are most promising.
We encourage the President and Congress to work in a bipartisan fashion to pass comprehensive tax reform that will reduce both corporate and marginal tax rates and simplify the tax code. NECA will continue to advocate for a total overhaul of the tax code, which is necessary to facilitate economic growth that would ultimately be most beneficial to the middle class.
Most significantly, we look forward to the massive one trillion dollar investment to build a 21st century infrastructure. We believe that if this plan is enacted, it will help rebuild our nation and create thousands of jobs for our contractors and their employees.
NECA pledges to work together with the Congress and the Administration to move on these initiatives as soon as possible."
