ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR magazine and NECA to present webinar on NEIS program in May

NEISwebinarbannerThe National Electrical Contractors Association, in conjunction with ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR magazine and industry sponsors Arlington Industries, Leviton and Southwire, will be hosting a webinar on the National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS) in May.

The name of the webinar is “National Electrical Installation Standards—Standards as High as Your Own,” and it will feature Mike Johnston, NECA’s Executive Director of Standards and Safety, and Sofia Arias, also on NECA’s Standards and Safety staff, as speakers.

The webinar will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 11 am EDT. It will last 60 minutes.

The webinar provides attendees with a high-level look at NECA’s NEIS program. NECA has produced more than 40 ANSI-accredited quality and performance standards for the electrical industry that define what constitutes good workmanship in electrical construction.

Learn all about this program and how it adds value to those involved the electrical industry. Attendees will receive a complimentary PDF copy of NECA 408 Standard for Installing and Maintaining Busways.

Some sample topic questions include:

  • What are the NEIS?
  • How are the NEIS developed?
  • Who benefits from the NEIS?
  • What makes NEIS work?

“NECA’s National Electrical Installation Standards library has grown over the years, and as new technologies emerge, the NEIS evolve and keep pace,” Johnston said.

Johnston also emphasized that the standards are constantly providing significant value to those in the electrical designing and engineering communities. The NEIS also help professionals in developing design specifications in that they reduce and often eliminate specification writing time.

The webinar is free, but registration is required. For more information on how to register, visit https://neca.webex.com
