The Washington, D.C. Chapter represents qualified, reliable, and experienced contractors in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Local Union 26- IBEW and Local 70 - IBEW are included in the Chapter's jurisdiction. The Chapter currently has 48 contractor members, who perform most of the electrical work in the metropolitan area includes suburban/southern Maryland and northern Virginia.

The Chapter services it's members through labor relations, educational services, technical development, and government affairs. Some examples of the Chapter's diverse areas of support include the following:

The Chapter's Regular Membership Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month.

The Chapter's support helps members excel in the services they provide to their customers: installation, maintenance, and upgrading of all types of electrical systems, from basic power and lighting to the most sophisticated design applications, including smart buildings, energy management, co-generation systems, high-voltage systems, PCB's, fire alarms, security systems, CCTV, telephone interconnect, computer cabling, LAN's, and fiber optics.

NECA members are involved in a range of construction projects that are as diversified as the Washington Metropolitan Area itself. These projects include such facilities as: industrial plants, schools, hospitals, shopping centers and malls, apartment buildings, condominiums, office complexes, and single family homes.

Super Fresh Stores, Washington Post, Redskin Stadium, Dulles International Airport, Carlye Towers Condominium, Navy Federal Credit Union, Loudoun Hospital Medical Buildings, International Monetary Fund, Hewlett Packard, National Museum of American History, Shiloh Baptist Church, GWU Inn at Foggy Bottom, MCI Center, National Geographic Society, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Justice Data Center, Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, Shoppers Food Warehouses, American University, IRS HQ Complex, Jackson Elementary School, Safeways, and VA Tech/UVA Graduate Center, Giant Food, IBM/Toshiba Plant.
