1986, December 23 - Dick Putan and Jeana Yeager complete the first non-stop flight around the world without refueling.

1917 - At its annual convention in New Orleans, NECA adopts a new constitution and bylaws to provide a different structure for the organization in accordance with the "Goodwin Plan", a plan aimed at greater industry cooperation in merchandising.
